The holder of the world's greatest mind subjected with the powerful ability to act like a fool, L Lawliet was born to be mocked. But he wasn't all powerful nor all knowing, he was hopeless when it came to what his brain could not solve.

Name: L Lawliet

Nickname: Ryuzaki, Erald Coil, Danuve. He prefers L. Due to the fact that he thinks he is a world famous detective with a price on his head; he will often give aliases of different types. Erald Coil and Danuve are the names of other detectives in his world, both played by him. Ryuzaki is a name he gives to people he doesn't really trust.

Personality: When one meets L, they will first notice his strange appearance. He looks disheveled, eccentric, and perhaps a little unstable at a first glance. When he speaks, one will notice his quiet, introverted manner. He will look you directly in the eye, but he will only use the most necessary words. If one were to get to know L, they would realize that the complexity of his personality and delusions are immense. His intelligence is beyond that of any above-average human, and so his delusions are rich, detailed, and vastly intricate that is, of course, given that he is not on his medications

L doesn't mind people, so long as he doesn't perceive them as a threat. He will often weave those around him into his mental storylines. He has very distinctive quirks, from his absolute love of sweets to the way he sits. When thinking, he has a tendency to either chew his thumb or stack sugar cubes; he needs to keep his hands busy.

L dislikes emotional closeness and physical closeness for that matter. He will be closest to those that play key roles in his puzzles, but making real friends with genuine motives and intentions is an entirely foreign concept to him. He is uninterested in anything of the sexual nature; while he is not adverse to pleasure, he finds that there are activities he can partake in that provide pleasure without the necessity of being vulnerable or becoming close to another, hence his extreme penchant for sweets of all kinds. Most people find him very interesting until they realize how much his disabilities command his life. It gets kind of difficult to listen to the same evidence on the same case over and over again.

Outwardly: L has a disheveled look to him; his hair is usually mussed, his clothes wrinkled, and he gives off a general sense of not being bothered by such trivial things as brushing his hair. He makes sweeping, grand hand gestures when he really gets into describing a case, but for the most part, he is very withdrawn and quiet. One might often see him sitting in his own quirky way, muttering to himself while rubbing his lower lip with his thumb and chewing incessantly on his nails. L also slouches terribly and appears to pay no attention to his surroundings. He also has a tendency to suck his thumb.

Inwardly: L sees everything and is excellent at psychoanalyzing, and although he will sometimes play dumb, he is acutely aware of all that surrounds him. L is always inside of his mind; however his medications help him tremendously keep himself stable. His stability used to break more often, now however he’s stabled considerably with the help of both Watari and his medication. Without his medication, there is little to no line between reality and delusion and his paranoia tends to get the better of him. The world in L's head is infinite, complex; guarded by the same rules as ours but entirely different.

Quirks/Habits/Mannerisms: He sits most of the time, and when he sits it is always in the same position. Knees to chest, at least one arm wrapped around his leg, and the other usually brought up toward his face to allow him to rub his thumb against his lip. He never wears shoes or socks, if he can help it. He adores sweets of all kinds, but mostly cake. He almost never sleeps and when he does, he normally suffers nightmares.

Likes: Sweets, bare feet, solving cases, challenges, the sky, family.

Dislikes: Socks, shoes, losing, touch, sleep, bitter food

Strengths: Intelligence is definitely his forte, along with memory, observation, and psychoanalyzing.

Weaknesses: He absolutely hates losing, he can not admit to his illness, and when he does lose, or when his delusions break, he becomes so depressed that he can barely move.

Disorders: Asperger syndrome, ADHD, ADD, and paranoid personality disorder
